Collaborative Research Departments

In 2007 - 08, Anna University awarded Collaborative Research Department status to the Mechanical Engineering Department, Civil Engineering Department and the Physics Division (Science & Humanities) for the purpose of award of Ph.D/M.S. (By Research) Degree. At present, thirty six faculty members of HCE are pursuing Ph.D programmes at different universities.

Publications

In terms of research publications, 11 papers were published in 2007 - 08 by our faculty members in national and international journals. 18 papers were presented in various conferences organized by Universities and Government colleges. Six faculty members were awarded cash incentives for their journal and book publications.

Mr.K.M.Senthil Kumar, IV year B.E. (Auto) and his teammates were awarded by TVS Lucas Ltd and Delphi TVS Ltd for designing and fabricating an All Terrain Vehicle for a national Auto contest.

Travel Grant
Mrs.A.K.Parvathy, Asst. Professor - EEE Dept. received a travel grant of Rs.49,160/- from AICTE to present a paper entitled "Complete Quadratic Linearisation of Machine Models" in IEEE Multiconference on Systems and Control held in Singapore from 1 to 3 October 2007.

Two students Tapojoy Chatterjee (Aero) and Abhishweta Gupta (ECE) presented a paper entitled "Laser propelled air vehicle" in the 46th Aerospace Science Exhibit and Meeting of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) Society in Reno, Nevada, USA from 7th to 10th January 2008. Hindustan College of Engineering partially supported their trip to USA.
