| COURSE REQUIREMENT |

|
Students
enrolled at OFS will be
given a Student Pilot
Licence which authorises
flight training with a
licenced Flight Instructor.
Students are required
to take examinations stipulated
by the DGCA at Chennai
(Madras) or other approved
centres to qualify for
their licence. The exams
are conducted at various
cities like Chennai, Delhi,
Mumbai, Kolkatta, etc.
The detailed exam schedule
can be obtained from the
Operations Office. The
Radio Telephony exam is
conducted every three
months at the various
cities mentioned above.
Those
students who are weak
in subjects will be given
adequate training to prepare
them to the required standards.
Only after they attain
the required standards,
they will be permitted
to commence flying training.

Medical requirement
|
| |
| DGCA
requires students to meet
certain medical standards
as an admission requirement.
This is mandatory for admittance
and issue of licence. For
PPL, the student has to
undergo a medical checkup
with a local DGCA approved
doctor. However, for CPL,
a candidate has to undergo
a comprehensive medical
checkup either at the Institute
of Aerospace Medicine (IAM),
Bangalore or the Central
Medical Establishment, New
Delhi by prior appointment. |

| Medium of instruction |
| |
| As
per ICAO standards, medium
of instruction followed
is English. This language
is used for all purposes,
whether correspondence,
lectures or for ATC communication.
For those students whose
native language is not English
and for those who do not
demonstrate fluency in the
language (less than 60%
in their 12th standard)
additional language training
is provided at extra cost. |
