The library at OFS, is fully air-conditioned and has an vide range of aviation related books on subjects such as Air Navigation, Meteorolgy, Aerodynamics, Cockpit Management, etc., including encyclopedia, journals and magazines on aviation. The reference books on stock of the library would cater to the needs of an individual aspiring for an Airline Transport Licence.

The ground school has a well-stacked resource centre with the latest aviation publications on CD-ROMS, DVD, Videos, CBTs and internet facility.

Audio and Video training CD's / DVD's, training film to support any trainee from the ab-inieio, up to the ATPL (Airline Transport Pilot Licence). Publication and products from the renowned publishers from jeppesen, king aviation, royal air force and FAA etc are available in the resource center. The library will soon be converted into a digital one. A qualified librarian is available in our library for any assistance.

The school with its constant effort to update its resource centres equips its students with in-depth knowledge and professional piloting skills to get their careers off the ground to a flying start.

OFS has got abundant sets of question banks on various subjects, which can be used for self learning and also for self examination. Question banks are also regularly updated with the latest revision to keep in touch with the changes in syllabi.

There are many computers connected through Local Area Network. Systems in the Computer Lab are loaded with educational software and also the Microsoft Flight Simulator. There are also a number of CDs on aviation related training.

Building Blocks

OFS exists in two distinct training facilities. Ground training is carried out in a well furnished three storied air conditioned building in the centre of the city. Flying training is carried out in the airport and the OFS Hangar houses 8 aircraft, besides the associated technical facility at the airport are given below:

Guest House

We have a guest house in the city office building with 2 independent suites, a kitchen and an ante-room with a balcony.

A modern guest house is available for parents / guests visiting the school. A/c and non A/c rooms are available at a nominal; reservations can be made with the hostel manager.

Sports and Games:

There are modest sports facilities for playing outdoor games like volleyball, football, cricket and indoor games like chess, carom and table tennis. Facilities for playing cricket and tennis are available in and around Pondicherry and arrangements can be made for the trainees to join such clubs.

'Health is Weath'is a familiar adage. Whilst the students are under our care we make sure that efforts are taken to keep them healthy and fit.

Specialists from JIPMER are available for consultation apart from that, the tie ups we have with the Clinic/Hospital(DGCA approved) for students check up for Class II medical.

For Class I medicals, a candidate has to undergo a comprehensive medical check-up either at the Institute of Aerospace Medicine (IAM), Bangalore or the Central Medical Establishment (CME), New Delhi by prior appointment.
